Ski Beach Park
Ski Beach Park is one of Big Bear Lake's most popular summer spots, sitting right on the south shore of the lake with direct water access and a wide sandy beach. It's the kind of place that fills up fast on warm weekends, with families setting up for the day, kayakers launching from the shore, and kids in the water from mid-morning onward.
The park has a designated swim area, picnic tables, and open lawn space. It's free to access and easy to find, which is part of why it gets busy. Arrive early on summer weekends if you want a good spot.
What to Do Here
Swimming is the main draw, but the park is also a good launch point for paddleboards and kayaks. The views across the lake toward the mountains are some of the best in the valley. In the evening, the light on the water is worth sticking around for.
The beach is dog-friendly in certain areas, so it's a good stop if you're traveling with a pet. Check current park rules on arrival as seasonal restrictions can apply.
Getting There
Ski Beach Park is located on North Shore Drive along the south shore of Big Bear Lake. Parking is available nearby, though it fills quickly on summer weekends. No reservation required.
